Our beloved olive oil partner is located in the heart of the province of Jaén in Spain’s southern region of Andalusia. Monica and David were keen to support Streetsmart when they opened Mere in 2017 and have raised thousands of pounds for homeless people in the area. They saw each day the many people sleeping rough only a few minutes away from the restaurant and wanted to help in any way they could.
Monica volunteers at a nearby soup kitchen when she can and as a Streetsmart ambassador has encouraged countless of other chefs and restaurateurs to take part in the charity’s annual campaign to raise vital funds to help those individuals who often through no fault of their own find themselves in crisis without a place to call home.
